I’ve almost finished watching all seasons of Sex and the City (I’m on episode 5, season 6) and I started wondering about one thing: The leading women of Sex and the City doesn’t seem to have had a life pre-Sex and the City. Sure, there is the occasional mentioning of a guy an ex-boyfriend, but other than that you don’t get much else. In one episode Charlotte claims that you only get a certain number of true loves and then you run out of them. She then says that Carrie’s had two true loves; Aidan and Mr. Big. Carrie met both post-Sex and the City start, so Carrie didn’t meet her first true love until she was 31? So am I naïve to believe that I’ve found love at 21? Or is it that when you are 34 and single, dated many guys throughout you over 15-year-old dating career that guys you dated when you were 21 eventually become forgotten, no matter how strongly you felt about them at the time? If so, then I’m kind of sad.
