Why I like the Hills
I have a confession to make: I’ve started watching The Hills. You all might be going “oh no she didn’t!” now, but yes, I did and I actually like it. Sure some of them are a bit shallow and air-headed and sure you can sometimes tell that it’s “acted” because they really can’t act on the show, but it doesn’t really matter if it’s fake or not. In a way it does reflect real life as I (and other poeple) relate to the persons (I’ve met my share of “Heidis” in my life.) and situations that occur on the show. When Audrina still went after Justin Bobby, even though he kissed another girl in front of her, I totally felt for her. I’ve been blind too when it comes to certain guys. It might feel fake because the people on the show are obviously celebrities but we never see any of that. But they cannot show that because then it would be another one of those “oh it’s so tough being a celebrity, feel bad for me”-reality shows. It’s not about that, it’s about life as a youth and there is nothing wrong with showing that.
Edit: I stopped watching the Hills. It got old.
No commentsDoes life start at 31?
I’ve almost finished watching all seasons of Sex and the City (I’m on episode 5, season 6) and I started wondering about one thing: The leading women of Sex and the City doesn’t seem to have had a life pre-Sex and the City. Sure, there is the occasional mentioning of a guy an ex-boyfriend, but other than that you don’t get much else. In one episode Charlotte claims that you only get a certain number of true loves and then you run out of them. She then says that Carrie’s had two true loves; Aidan and Mr. Big. Carrie met both post-Sex and the City start, so Carrie didn’t meet her first true love until she was 31? So am I naïve to believe that I’ve found love at 21? Or is it that when you are 34 and single, dated many guys throughout you over 15-year-old dating career that guys you dated when you were 21 eventually become forgotten, no matter how strongly you felt about them at the time? If so, then I’m kind of sad.

I have now watched 2 out of 4 ESC preview shows that SVT (Swedish Television) are showing and here is a summary of the best and the worst.
Bosnia & Hercegovina has as fun stage show. I have no idea what they are sining about, but I love it and it feels original.
Israel and Boaz sing right into my heart. Again, I have no idea what they are singing, but I get tears in my eyes. It doesn’t hurt that is cute either!
Either you love or hate Ireland’s Dustin the Turkey. I was on the hate side after the first two listens, but now I have moved over to the love side. I find it quite catchy and funny.
Estonia on the other hand are not fun at all. They could have put on some nicer clothes. Boring!
Armenia has a catchy tune.
Version 2006 of Dima Bilan from Russia was better. The accent sounds horrible. Appearently impossible is an impossible word to pronounce for russians.
Azerbaijan: Vampires please no.
Then my home country of Finland: I don’t think Teräsbetoni will do a Lordi and win again. It’s not orginal anymore, but it does give a nice break from the empty dance-pop songs some countries have. Personally, I do not like the song that much. The title confuses me: Missä miehet ratsastaa (Where men ride). When the song is over all that is left of it is the screaming.
Other countries I’ve heard so far: Montenegro, Belgium, San Marino, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Netherlands, Greece, Romania, Andorra & Slovenia
No commentsHeroes is not good
Read the title again. I am not saying it sucks. I am just saying that it is not good. I just finished the first season and I am so dissapointed! I could guess huge parts of the plot. Nowhere was I surprised with what was happening. It was not original. I’ve seen most of the stuff happening before in supernatural/super hero tv series or movies. (The whole point of season one was to start a man from exploding!? What!? That’s it?! How interesting…) Oh, and I haven’t even started with the powers. There is no law for how they use their powers. The show just uses them as they like to fit their storyline. If they want it to be a bit believeable (okay I am aware it’s a show about people with SUPER powers) they should limit the powers of the characters and make them have flaws and not just all-knowing all-powering.
I thought Hiro was cute in the beginning but now I just want him to grow up and stop shrieking all the time.
Save the Cheerleader. Save the World. (Wtf!? Is that supposed to be funny or something? It’s just lame. I hate it when they repeat it all the time. It makes no sense. Why do they want people to have that line stuck in their heads? They could have picked something with actual meaning, like… Switch to Low Energy Light Bulbs. Save the World.)
Oh my god I miss Lost so much.
Yes and if someone disagrees with me, please argue back. : )
No commentsI learned so much from Grey’s Anatomy
I just spent the last month watching three seasons of Grey’s Anatomy, and I learned so much. I think I am a mix between Izzie and Cristina, and I might have a little Meredith in me too. Dark and twisty! The relationship between George and Izzie made me think about my own. I have a really good guy friend (nothing sexual going on, I swear!), but I cannot seem to connect with his girlfriend. I tried, and sometimes it does feel like we are friends, but then it’s weird again. When Callie told Izzie to find another friend, I was crushed. How can you tell someone to let go of their friend for a partner? It seems so unfair. Can’t you be there for both your friend and partner? I would never want to let go of him. If his girlfriend or my boyfriend would have a problem with that they would just have to deal. A guy and a girl CAN be really good friends, without sex involved. Seriously!
Addison is so sexy. I want red hair now.
